Privacy Policy

Housedex keeps your equipment records, photos, and maintenance history on your device. We don't operate a server that receives this data (sync uses your own iCloud), we don't require an account, and we don't include any advertising or analytics software.

Camera and photos

Housedex asks for camera access to photograph appliance labels, receipts, documents, and equipment. Those photos are saved to your device's local record for the item you're scanning — they are not uploaded anywhere by the app. If you deny camera access, you can still add equipment records by typing the details in manually.

What's stored, and where

Equipment records, maintenance schedules, receipts, photos, and every other record you create are stored in Housedex's local app storage on your iPhone or iPad. If you're signed in to iCloud, Housedex also syncs these records between your own devices using Apple's CloudKit, in your personal private iCloud database. That data belongs to your Apple ID: it is not stored on any server we operate, and we cannot access, read, or share it. Your iCloud storage and the sync itself are governed by Apple's terms and privacy policy. You can turn syncing off for Housedex in iOS Settings › [your name] › iCloud. Uninstalling the app removes the copy on that device; records already synced remain in your iCloud until you delete them.

Notifications

Maintenance reminders are scheduled locally on your device using Apple's notification system. Generating and delivering these reminders does not send your equipment or schedule data anywhere outside the app.

In-app purchases

Housedex's Pro features are sold through Apple's App Store in-app purchase system. Your payment details are handled entirely by Apple under Apple's own privacy policy — Housedex never receives or stores your card or payment information. The app checks your purchase status with Apple to unlock Pro features, and does not send that information anywhere else.

Third parties

Housedex does not include third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking software of any kind. We don't sell, rent, or share your information with anyone, because we don't collect it in the first place.

Children's privacy

Housedex is a home-maintenance tool intended for general audiences and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect information from children, and since the app doesn't collect information from anyone, there is nothing to collect regardless of age.

Changes to this policy

If Housedex changes how data is handled, this page will be updated first, with the effective date above revised accordingly.
